COFCO Agri (HK0606) announced on July 17 that it would be constituent of Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index Series.
Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index Series are created to be an indicator of investment sustainability which has won increasingly more global attention. They are focused on corporate sustainability including environmental, social and corporate governance dimensions.
COFCO Agri’s entry can be seen as recognition of its sustainability, very helpful in increasing its position in the international capital market. It will use its resources more efficiently to get better results. Its products and services will never set aside social responsibilities. All of these are in the best interest of shareholders.
Besides this entry, COFCO Agri has also been constituent of several other Hang Seng index series like Composite Index, Mainland Composite Index, China Enterprises Index and Freefloat Index.
In addition, COFCO Agri entered FTSE Environmental Opportunities Index Series on June 22 last year.
