The ceremony held for COFCO Rice (Suihua) Co., Ltd. starting operation in the local economic development district of Heilongjiang Province on October 10, 2011. Government officials and corporate management were present at the event.
This is another step of COFCO Corporation pushing forward its integrated business strategy, improving the processing and logistics capacity and increasing local employment and incomes of farmers.
Suihua City of Heilongjiang Province has natural advantages in agriculture. It is an important growing area and also an important market, instrumental to better integration and economy of scale.
The newly operated company has the daily capacity of processing 1,200 MT of rice and the total storage capacity of 100,000 MT. It is the first large-sized comprehensive base having the processing capacity of 300,000 MT. The yearly sales revenue is expected to reach RMB 625 million, paying over RMB 40 million tax. It also has international business.
