On June 17, 2015, Mr. Ma Jianping, COFCO vice president, met with Mr. Guy Saint-Jacques, Ambassador of Canada to the People’s Republic of China and his diplomatic mission consisting of government officials and entrepreneurs at COFCO Fortune Plaza. The two sides exchanged views on deepening Sino-Canadian cooperation in agriculture, food, investment and other fields.
Mr. Ma Jianping noted that China and Canada have a long-standing history of cooperation as well as a solid foundation for cooperation in traditional agricultural products such as wheat, barley and rapeseed. In the future, both sides will further strengthen cooperation in major agricultural commodities while expanding cooperation in branded foods, meat, aquatic products and life science. At the meeting, COFCO also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Canadian company Genesus Inc.
